MICHIGAN LOBBYIST ALSO DIRECTOR FOR IRAN POLICY COMMITTEE

Welday, candidate for MI’s 9th Congressional district recently lost all my respect when he came out with the most pathetic smear campaign and ads against his opponent Rocky Raczkowski, http://www.rockyworksforus.com/. Rocky is a recent veteran, serving 3 tours oversees against the war on terror, he’s a businessman and served 3 terms in the MI state house.

After seeing the repulsive ads I decided to come out and let the world know what I have found out about Welday. Here it goes:

After hours of research I have come to the conclusion that Paul Welday is sympathetic to the MEK. While he thinks they should be removed from the US terror list, I believe fundamentally they are radical islamists. In a letter to the Detroit Free Press, Welday explains his reason for this: http://irandemocratic.org/FeaturedArticles/070905DetroitFreePress.html

As a board member of the IPC (Iran Policy Committee) he further shows his interest and support of the Middle East and MEK. Here is an article that supports this and that he’s a board member of the IPC. http://www.allbusiness.com/government/government-bodies-offices-government/11761697-1.html

In this article he is further pushing his agenda, along with Gen Vallely who previously endorsed Welday. They are of like minds, making the endorsement easy and not meaningful. http://www.analyst-network.com/article.php?art_id=1366

While he was chief of staff for Joe Knollenberg in 1998, Knollenberg received contributions from the Food for Oil organization : http://www.usefulwork.com/shark/archives/001865.html

It was reported that in Oct 2004 Welday spoke to a Cair group. While the author of this article is credible and his source not always so, I have to rely on the author for having verified the report. http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/2004/01/cair-accepted-as-mainstream

It is now said, that Cair is endorsing the building of a new Mosque at the 9/11 site. I would like to know if Welday is ok with that, too. http://marionalwaysrunin.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!4C50CAC721A0BA86!4477.entry

The founder of IPC is Raymond Tanter and his CV includes the CFR (akin to the Bilderbergs and other globalist groups) and the Woodrow Wilson Institute. http://www.rightweb.irc-online.org/profile/Tanter_Raymond With connections like that, it makes me wonder where Welday might fit in there.

The IPC work looks all fine and dandy on the surface, but, what they are trying to do is the same thing our government did back with the Ayatollah Komeni and look how well that worked out. America should not be trying to work with the “lesser of two evil” factions in foreign countries to manuever things the way we want them..

During his lobbying years for Knollenberg, the following occurred:

“U.S. State Dept To Splurge on Persian Media: Iran-Syria Operations Group
On February 15, 2006, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice asked Congress “to provide $75 million in emergency funding to step up pressure on the Iranian government.” If granted, the request would increase to $85 million the 2006 budget “to promote political change inside Iran,” up from $3.5 million last year. $50 million would be used to “significantly increase Farsi broadcasts into Iran, mainly satellite television broadcasting by the federal government and broadcasts of the U.S.-funded Radio Farda.” Another $5 million “will be aimed at reaching the Iranian public through the Internet and building independent Farsi television and radio stations.” $15 million “would go to Iranian labor groups, human rights activists and other groups, generally via … groups such as the National Endowment for Democracy,” Ewen MacAskill and Julian Borger reported February 16, 2006, in The Guardian (UK).” I’ve seen Condoleezza’s name linked thru some of the other Iranian-American groups also so will have to go back and check again. The circle keeps getting bigger and smaller at the same time. Here’s where I found this http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Iran

Just today I received a copy of a IRS form 990 which shows Welday as a Director for the IPC along with General Vallely and others you know of. The form shows no earnings to Welday, but indicates that he has workd for IPC 10 hours a week. This IRS form is from the year 2008.

I’m hoping that you agree with me that this is not what we are looking for in DC right now.

LOBBYIST-CANDIDATE SHOWS CONTRIBUTIONS FROM SPECIAL INTEREST

Who will the voters believe to be the conservative candidate? Who is looking to reap the benefits of a lobbyist in office?
Who is standing up for the voters in the 9th district and who is against them?
Paul Welday, lobbyist and businessman claims to be the conservative candidate. But when looking at the campaign finance reports, one wonders if he will really represent the voters in his district or will he be beholden to the many donors from whom he collected the majority of his contributions.
You can read and decide here for yourself.

Here are some interesting figures that show the difference between the campaigns

Andrew Raczkowski (R ) Paul Welday ®
Sector Total

Construction $1,000 vs $7,200
Energy/Nat Resource $2,300 vs $1,000
Finance/Insur/RealEst $3,000 vs $43,050
Health $2,050 vs $19,400
Lawyers & Lobbyists $1,800 vs $21,850
Transportation $1,500 vs $17,350
Misc Business $8,200 vs $11,364
Ideology/Single-Issue $29,048 vs $2,650
Other $15,050 vs $11,750

Rocky leads in contributions among the voters $29,048 to Welday's $2,650
Welday leads in the finance sectors $43,050 to Rocky's $3,950
Welday leads in the lawyers / lobbyists $21,850 to Rocky's $1,800.
All Info from Opensecrets.org.

This was just a small section of the entire finance reports to give the reader an idea what is happening here. The real conservative here is Rocky Raczkowski, the guy that wants to work for us here in Michigan's 9th Congressional District. Vote Rocky. www.rockyworksforus.com and visit here again as I will have more info coming.

Here are some more examples since my last report. While the columns are not properly lined, you will get the idea.  Rocky is the left column, Welday the right one.

Health Professionals
2050             vs  16,650
Retired
14,100          vs  10,850
Real Estate
250               vs 16,000
In spite of all those numbers, Rocky is way ahead of Welday due to the generous contributions from the people, in fact Rocky even had more contributions than Gary Peters in the 2nd quarter.

Don't let the lies, rumors and smear campaign from the Welday camp distract you. Rocky is staying focused on the issues, so am I, so should all of us. After all, we need a winner to send to Washington in November.

OAKLAND COUNTY CAN BOAST ABOUT TWO ICAUCUS ENDORSED CANDIDATES - UPDATED

As an IC delegate, I am excited to report that two of our republican candidates have won the Icaucus (www.icaucus.org) endorsement: Rocky Raczkowski from the 9th congressional district and Gene Taliercio from the 12th MI Senate district. Rocky is hoping to replace Democrat Gary Peters and Gene is vying for term-limited Mike Bishop’s seat.

Both are commonsense constitutional conservatives, the basic requirement of Icaucus. Icaucus, or Independence Caucus (NOT Independent Party) is a national, non-partisan, non-profit organization seeking candidates that are willing to go through a rigorous vetting process consisting of 80 questions based on constitutional values and principles. Having passed that with a minimum score of 70 %, the candidate then goes through a grueling interview. As a member of the interview steering committee I can attest the interviews are intense at least. The interviews are taped and then presented to the Michigan members (today there are at least 1000 +). The members listen to the interviews and vote on a candidate based on his questionnaire score and interview. Again, the total score must be a minimum of 70%.

Paul Welday, also from the 9th district was not able to achieve the required minimum 70%, compared to Raczkowski who had 96% on his questionnaire alone and beat Welday on the interview 2 -1. (67% to 33%)Gene Taliercio was the only one brave enough in his race against Copper Rizzo, Jim Marleau, John Garfield, and Kim Russell to go through the vetting. Both Rizzo and Marleau were invited to participate several times, but they declined. Gene passed his questions and interview with high scores.

The ultimate goal of IC is to send vetted constitutional candidates to DC or Lansing and to unseat incumbents that are beholden to unions, lobbyists, and big money special interest groups. The first ever endorsed candidate is Jason Chaffetz from Utah, now making a name for himself in DC.  With the help of Icaucus, early primaries show endorsed candidates having won their races, to name just a few are Bill Randall from NC, Jim DeMint from SC, John Dennis from CA (to beat Nancy Pelosi) ToddYoung from IN. To see all endorsed candidates nationwide log into http://www.icaucus.org/.

The IC helps vetted and endorsed candidates by providing campaign assistance in various ways.
To date Michigan has other endorsed candidates worth mentioning: Robert Palmer, MI Senate, 31st , Steven Mobley, State House, 62nd, Bill Cooper, CD 2 to replace Pete Hoekstra, Tom Stillings CD 1 to take Stapak’s seat,

The following is a list of all Michigan endorsed candidates to date, with more to follow soon:

A GREAT DAY FOR ROCKY RACZKOWSI, CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS, MI 9TH DISTRICT

I was driving along I-75, heading to a last minute special event at Rocky's new campaign headquarters in Birmingham, listening to the Frank Beckman show. As I was wondering what the special event would be about, Frank introduced Senator Rick Santorum who was in town for the annual Reagan dinner as a speaker.  The senator told Frank that he already had endorsed Jay Riemersma (MI CD2)and Pete Hoekstra for Governor.  He was going to do some campaigning next for Rocky's campaign and endorse him.  So, the cat was out of the bag before I even got to the event.

At a great Birmingham location, people were just pouring in.  Standing room only, lots of excitement in the air. Finally, Rocky walked into the room with the Senator. I think I had goosebumps, Rocky actually introduced me and my husband to Senator Santorum and told him that I am with Icaucus.

Santorum is an excellent speaker and got the crowd fired up about all current issues. He then proceeded talking about Rocky and what an excellent choice he will be for Michigan 9th with his State, Military and business experience. Watch here what else he had to say:

To top off this great day, the following was released :
A poll released today by Strategic National Consulting gives Rocky a substantial lead in the Republican primary to be held on August 3, 2010.
ROCKY 26%
Welday 15%
Undecided 59%
"The big undecided number makes me want to work even harder, reaching out to every voter in the district, said Rocky. "That's why we need your help even more to get the word out. So, please volunteer or make a contribution today. "
The survey used Interactive Voice Response to gather the views of 900 likely Republican primary voters and the margin of error is 3.25%.
All in all, a great day for Rocky and all of us in support of him.
Oh, and here is my favorite photo.

POOR GARY PETERS IS BEING TARGETED

Today's article in the Oakland Press almost made me choke.  Poor Gary Peters, the "centrist" congressman from the 9th district is being attacked by three opponents all at once.  This whining kind of attitude almost made me cringe.  Who do they think they are kidding.  Read the Oakland Press article here http://tinyurl.com/y9u4vzu and now read my comment which I added to the comment section:

Poor Gary Peters is being attacked? So typical liberal whining when they don't get their way or are critized. Dan Farough thinks that our candidates positions are extreme and have no solutions? The truth is every one of them has positions and solutions that would work. The party of NO has an excellent solution to health care that would cover the uninsured and still keep the cost down, but nobody bothered to look at it, they got shut out. Mr. Farough, wake up and stop drinking the kool-aid. These are the facts about your dear Mr. Peters:

He voted with his party 95%, that's more than the average. He voted YES on Cap and Trade and all health care bills, both of which are economy and job killers, besides the fact that they would lead us to socialism and economic collapse. He scored 1% among all Michigan congressman to remove pork earmarks with 0% being the worst and 100% the best. The highest ranking Michigan congressman was Pete Hoekstra.

Furthermore, Peters refused the political courage test, was unresponsive to his constituents, does not return calls, is unavailable when called or visiting and sends back canned letters. His top political contributions came from organizations like ACT Blue, all different unions, lawyers, lobbyists, the DNC, out of state unions and the least from individuals. This tells me that all along he was beholden not only to Madame Pelosi but also to all these unions and special interest groups. Mr. Farough, don't go telling us about special interest groups, it's you people that take from them. Gary Peters has done nothing good for his district and I am blessed to have the time and energy to do all I can to help a candidate and his team to unseat Peters in November. Nothing would give me more pleasure.

The candidate that can beat Peters is Rocky Raczkowski http://www.rockyworksforus.com/.  Check it out for yourself and join the team.

Rocky Publicly Denounces Administration for Lack of Support for Our Stalwart Ally, Israel

Rocky Raczkowski, Republican candidate for Michigan’s 9th Congressional District and a Major in the U.S. Army was recently taken aback by the Obama administration’s “unwarranted and unjust condemnation of our stalwart friend and ally, Israel.”

Raczkowski took great exception with the administration’s unusually strident rebuke of Israel and is mystified at the silence from the Hill. “I am perplexed as to why the administration seems to be driving a wedge between the United States and its strongest and most dependable ally and only democracy in the Middle East.” Raczkowski added, “and the silence on Capitol Hill to this Administration’s heavy-handed actions is deafening.”

Raczkowski, who in January conducted a briefing for the Jewish community at the Holocaust Memorial Center, said, “it is incomprehensible to me why the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State are applying undue pressure on Israel while ignoring the continued incitement to terrorism of the Palestinians. Even in the face of Iran’s brutal repression and public executions of dissidents just this past year during the Green Revolution, the Obama administration publicly stated it would not meddle in the internal affairs of another nation."

"Why then the double standard,” Raczkowksi asks, “and this administration’s insistence on dictating policy to the sovereign nation of Israel? What this administration fails to appreciate is that Israel has the right and the obligation to defend its citizens, and that Israel is our frontline defense in the war against Islamist terrorism.”

Raczkowski has twice visited Israel, once when he was Michigan’s State House Majority Leader.

ROCKY WINS THE INDEPENDENCE CAUCUS ENDORSEMENT

"Congratulations to Rocky Raczkowski on winning the vote 2 to 1 over Welday and becoming our 3rd Endorsed candidate in Michigan and our 1st Endorsed U.S. Congressional candidate in this state. I have been holding back on making any comments besides the interview committee recommendation to avoid showing my bias. Now I can state that Rocky is going to be a fantastic Representative for the 9th District, Michigan and the USA. He has convinced me that he will listen to us and defend the Constitution as he has demonstrated for the past 24 years of Military Service and in State office. He will also oppose statism and promote free enterprise and individual liberty.

This race will get national attention because it is considered a toss-up by the so-called experts. It flipped to a liberal in 2008. It will be up to all of us to help our membership grow to make sure it flips back to a conservative in 2010."

ROCKY TO HOST UNIQUE CAMPAIGN EVENTS ON FEBRUARY 6th, 2010

Rocky Raczkowski is the first candidate to air campaign ads announcing his campaign for Congress and inviting the community to a Townhall meeting.

The event is the first of its kind in Michigan because it's all about you. You'll get a chance to learn about Rocky and his stand on the issues, but the main focus of the event is a strategy session/town hall meeting -- an opportunity for your voice to be heard. These sessions will be a dialogue that will help our campaign connect with voters and make sure your ideas and concerns are addressed on the campaign trail and ultimately in Washington.

We can't beat Gary Peters and his liberal pals like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid without your ideas and your understanding of families throughout the 9th district.

The event will also allow interested individuals an opportunity to sign up and volunteer to join the campaign and Team Rocky! The townhall/strategy sessions will be held at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, Michigan (located on the NW corner of Maple and Dequindre) on Saturday, February 6th.

There will be three (3) separate briefings throughout the day starting at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. Please preregister to attend one of the sessions. Just click on the link located on our campaign home page: http://www.rockyworksforus.com/.

Please remember, it is very important to pre-register so that we are aware of how many people to expect.

PLEASE, DONATE TO OUR VICTORY:

We are almost at our goal of new donors. We thank you for your support and ask for your support all the way through until Team Rocky wins on Election Day in November.

Again, click and register for the event using the link on our home page at: http://www.rockyworksforus.com/ or give us a call at: 248-388-4664.

I looking forward to seeing on Saturday and serving you in the U.S. House of Representatives,

Rocky Raczkowski

ROCKY ROLLS WITH HUGE 9TH DISTRICT STRAW POLL VICTORY

In the first test of grass roots strength in his bid to represent Michigan’s 9th District in the U.S. Congress, Rocky Raczkowski rolled to a huge victory over three opponents with nearly 60 percent of the vote in a straw poll held today. The poll was sponsored by the 9th District Republican Committee and hundreds of activists jammed into a banquet hall in Troy to cast their votes.

“With their votes, the grass roots said loud and clear they want a representative who works for them,” said Rocky. “I’m ready to go on a mission for the people of the 9th District.”

Rocky Raczkowski is a military veteran who served two combat tours in the Global War on Terror, business owner and former majority floor leader of the Michigan House of Representatives. For more information about Rocky, visit http://www.rockyworksforus.com/.

Rocky will also be featured at a congressional candidates forum to be held at the annual 9th District Christmas Party, 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Friday, December 11, 2009. The event will be at the home of Bob and Jan Gosselin, 5773 Sussex, Troy, Michigan. For more information, contact info@rockyworksforus.com or RSVP to mi9thgop@gmail.

9TH DISTRICT GOP PANCAKES AND POLITICS

I  just returned from the 9th GOP pancakes and politics. It was again surprising to me that Rick Snyder won the straw poll, and already he's announcing it all over Facebook. He certainly is a very smart businessman and I think economically he makes some sense. Having said that. Hoekstra, who won 3rd in the poll got my vote, not only for what he stands, i.e. fairtax, smaller government, right to work state etc, his presence demands some respect that I don't get from the other candidates. Here is a video of Hoekstra at the event:

From all the candidates for Sec of State, Michele McManus seems to be the most conservative, a real firecracker full of spunk and energy and she got my vote, too.

The candidates for congress did not get to talk today, but they made the rounds and Rocky Raczakowski won by a great margin, with Paul Welday in 2nd, and the 2 new ones following with very few votes.

The room was packed and  it was exciting to see so much interest and energy.

UPDATE OF "ROCKY'S" PRESENTATION ON GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR

Although a beautiful day outside, approximately 150 people gathered inside the Commissioners Auditorium in Pontiac to listen to Rocky's presentation.  No photos were allowed to be taken.
Rocky is an excellent speaker (thankfully, he doesn't use a teleprompter) and he gave us a brief history on how we got to where we are now, starting with the Gulf War under Bush 1. A series of videos and still photos followed, some of them very graphic, some of them shocking, so much so that my mouth dropped open, as in Oh My God.  Everything he showed us or told us about was declassified and can be found on Open Secrets. He had two soldiers in the audience that had served with him overseas and they contributed not only to the presentation, but also gave big Kudos to Rocky for his leadership, courage and abilities.

There was a reporter in the audience from "Reporting Michigan" who took notes (I didn't, shame on me), but here is his report http://tinyurl.com/yzue7pd Please note on this article that Rocky is a Major and not Captain.  Surely an honest mistake on the author's part.

I am grateful to Rocky that he was willing to share his experience with us and it confirmed what kind of person he is, the kind that loves his country and that we need to represent us. Rocky is running for Congress, 9th district in Michigan, against Gary Peters who refuses to listen to his constituents.

A HEARTFELT TRIBUTE TO OUR TROOPS

Thank you Rocky Raczkowski for your service to this country. Thank you for wanting to continue to serve.

Veterans Day Message from Rocky Raczkowski

"On my last tour of duty in Somalia, I can remember being asked by one of my men, 'Major, if you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?' And without hesitation, I said to him, 'home in Michigan.' I know that every man and woman in the service feels the same way. We love America, our home, and can't wait to get back.

"When I came home a couple of months ago, I was overjoyed to see family and friends but was saddened to see that America wasn't the same and that some of our boundless hope and optimism had been replaced by fear and worry, especially about the sagging economy and job losses.

"So, on this Veterans Day, as brave men and women make sacrifices for us in the most dangerous places in the world and dream about returning home, let's resolve to do everything in our power to make the America our troops come home to stronger, safer and more prosperous. Let's get our economy creating jobs again so that we can replace every 'for sale' sign with a 'help wanted' sign. That's the best tribute we can give to everyone who has ever proudly worn the uniform of the U.S. military. I welcome you to join me in getting the job done."

NOTE: Don't forget to RSVP for my special briefing on the Global War on Terror, Saturday, at 10:30 am in the Oakland County Commissioners' Auditorium, 1200 N. Telegraph, Pontiac. There are a few seats left so let me know if you are coming at veteransbriefing@gmail.com . Click here for more information.

MORE FREEDOM IS CONSERVATIVE PRESCRIPTION FOR HEALTH CARE

"Rocky" Raczkowski is running for the 9th Congressional Seat against Gary Peters who just sold us out to Pelosi.
As big government liberals celebrated House approval of their plan to take over America's health care system, Rocky Raczkowski today focused on the crux of the issue: freedom. "Liberal special interests are chipping away at our freedom," said Rocky. "In a world with more than 100,000 I-phone applications, health care solutions should focus on more freedom and more choices. But liberals want to force every American into a one-size-fits-all government-run health care system that takes away our freedom."
