I have yet to see Rocky not able to give a perfect speech, and still, every one of them truly comes from his heart. He is a natural. This spontaneous speech yesterday at the Wateford TeaParty Express Rally I'm sure won him more votes yet. This guy is on a roll. Go Rocky.

ROCKY HAS THE "IT" FACTOR
Rocky Raczkowski has all the attributes from life, business, military and political experiences that qualify him to be my next Congressman. But the one specialty that sets him apart from his opponent Gary Peters is the “it” or electability factor. This is not something a person can learn, you are born with it. Watch him in a crowd or at a townhall how he reaches out to the voters. Watch him at a parade how he criss-crosses the roads reaching out to the people. He listens, he talks to them, and always answers phone calls or letters. I’ve seen it with my own eyes, I’ve experienced it myself. I feel ,he truly cares about us, the folks in his district, he cares about our State and he deeply cares about our Country. When he says that he will work for us, I believe he literally means it.
THE DOWNSIDE OF GARY PETERS' SMALL BUSINESS JOBS ACT
The recently passed Small Business Jobs Act sponsored by Gary Peters is not all it's cracked up to be. It is supposed to be designed to increase lending to small businesses and create incentives for small business investments. What I hear, however, is that most businesses do not want to have anything to do with the government. What I hear from some banks is that they won't lend if they don't have the money themselves, they do not want borrowed government funds shoved down their throats.
Here is an excerpt of an email I received with a different take on this situation.
"Peters makes it sound like those d*** banks won't do their job and lend to small businesses. What's wrong with them? The banks (Wall Street) are the bad guys.
Now comes Gary Peters and his trusty companion Tonto to the rescue. By printing another $50 billion, and saying that this "extra" money can't be borrowed by the feds - there is now money that the government can FORCE the banks to lend to businesses.
The fallacy is that - if the feds were not borrowing every REAL dollar and every FIAT dollar in the economy - with their Stimulus spending, annual budget deficits, and bailouts of every nature - there WOULD ALREADY be funds available to lend.
In 20 months, Gary Peters aided and abetted the theft of more dollars from the American People than all the presidents from Washington through Reagan - COMBINED".
I've got a job that brings in money (taxes). I wish it was more since my wife (Congress) always spends a lot more than I bring home. I don't have the courage to get my wife to slow down her spending. Where would I have her cut? Everything is so important. Clothes, groceries, cable TV, hair styling, magazines, lawn service, Friday casino night, restaurants, ball game tickets, car repairs. The list never ends.
In the meantime, my kids (small businesses) are not eating a lunch at school. All our money is tied up in credit cards and debts. The kids are ornery, their teachers are complaining, and the pediatrician visits are more frequent. There's no money left to pay for lunches.
Who is the bad guy? My boss (the taxpayers). He's not paying me enough. If ONLY he would pay me more - and more - and more - I could fix everything. So I'll keep asking for raises and pad my expense reports more.
Finally, the school principal calls. "Your kids need lunch money. They are no longer studying (working) because they don't have any energy (jobs). They need lunch money (loans) to get energy (jobs, productivity) so they can study (do more business).
I respond, "Your cafeteria (the banks) should be giving them free lunches (private loans). I pay my school taxes - there should be plenty of money for the school cafeterias to do their job - give the kids lunches, like they were set up to do." The principal states that the taxes pay for teachers and school costs - not for lunches.
After weeks of unsuccessful pressuring of the school (banks, another bad guy) to give my kids free lunches, I steal (not REALLY my money) $100 from a co-worker's wallet and send it to the school to pay for a lunch card for my kids.
So one month later, my kids are eating lunches but still aren't working very hard. They are conserving their energy, because they don't know when the lunch money will run out. They won't go out for any sports (hiring) - sticking to the basics - too much risk of overextending their available energy (funds).
My boss (taxpayers) wants to fire me. He can't keep paying me more and he's tired of my constant harping for a raise. Also he's tired of the accountant telling him that he found something else funny with my expense reports.
But my wife keeps on spending. And I am still in denial that I am also spending, too.
If only the lunch money lasts until I hit my big score at the casino (November 2nd). Then everything will be great.
A reading from the Book of Peters, Chapter 1, verses 1 through 10. Therein endeth the lesson. Praise Be to Pelosi. Amen.

AFTERTHOUGHTS ABOUT THE RACZKOWSKI/PETERS DEBATE
After reading numerous reports from local papers, blogs, and on social networks, there is no need to detail the debate again. Here are two of my favorite reports on the debate:
http://aconservativeteacher.blogspot.com/2010/09/9th-congressional-district-debate.html
http://detnews.com/article/20100928/MIVIEW/100928001/Debate--Rock--em--sock--em
Prior to the debate there was a rally outside with supporters from both sides in attendance. The Peters crowd ALL had the exact same sign, as all dems always do - no originality and which indicates to me that these folks are brought in and handed their signs. Maybe they are even paid to attend. Most of them were "kids", at most college freshmen. It was obvious the way they were jumping and dancing that they really didn't understand the seriousness in which they were getting themselves involved in.
In contrast, Rocky's crowd sported mostly mature adults, many with homemade signs, neatly dressed and respectfully cheering Rocky's name. One slogan comes to mind that originated in Rocky's crowd: Rocky works for us, Peters works for Pelosi.
The rain got worse and we ventured inside the auditorium and waited for the debate to begin. The questioning panel were from the Oakland Press, namely Mr. Gilbert, Mr. Adler and a lady whose name I don't remember. This is where it became interesting. The moderator announced that the audience was allowed to applaud even before the debate was over. The Peters crowd got loud, noisy and somewhat rowdy at times as a result of this. While Rocky's supporters were accused in the Newspapers of being loud and insulting, that is not true.
The questioning was biased at times, with Rocky getting 3/4 of the time to respond and he was often interrupted by both Gary Peters and the panel, always referring back to the frivolous lawsuit or other non-issue items. At the same time, Rocky tried to get back to the issues at hand, trying to put Peters on the spot on his vote for healthcare and cap and trade. The panel also let Peters get away with completely answering the questions. The amnesty question comes to mind. While Peters and Rocky agree on securing the border, they never made Peters answer the amnesty issue.
Rocky was toe to toe with Peters and often got to Peters which showed in his red face At one point he lost his composure and started yelling at Rocky that he doesn't know what he is talking about. That is not how I want to see my congressman behave.
Rocky will be a superior statesman and he will work for us.

THE TRUTH ABOUT GARY PETERS IS EMERGING
Suddenly there are more and more comments and blogs surfacing about Congressman Gary Peters. While I have posted numerous myself on this blog, I am now posting links to several that are of great interest and don't just talk about his biggest bad vote, namely Obamacare, but this takes us into various other leftist areas.

ODDS AND ENDS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
Here is an interesting article about what is really going on in Oakland County's Gary Peters' district. It's really not all as rosy as he would like you to believe. In his op-ed today in the Oakland Press he claims that we gained some 25,000 new jobs. I say, no way, unemployment is as high as ever. Maybe he was counting the temporary census workers or a number of new government employees. His lack of honesty and transparency leaves me wondering.
Here is a great blog just about that - nothing is happening. Construction has halted and jobs are lost.
http://aconservativeteacher.blogspot.com/2010/09/democrats-two-americas-private-sector.html
Here is another take on the recent namecalling by Gary Peteres, namely calling Rocky Raczkowski a "teabagger" http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2010/09/027279.php
There was another article today in the Oakland Press that really upset me. GOP activists are turning against one of the best candidates, (besides Rocky) Justin Amash, an Icaucus endorsed candidate who posted each and every one of his votes on Facebook for complete transparency. Yes, he is a true conservative and votes accordingly, how can anyone be too conservative after what we have been observing the last 18 months. This is what a fellow blogger wrote about this: http://reclaimmichigan.blogspot.com/2010/09/justin-amash-obstructionist-or.html

GARY PETERS DISRESPECTS WOMEN AND SLAMS THE TEA PARTY
Today at an Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority candidate forum, Gary Peters referred to Rocky as a "tea-bagger" and said the Tea-party members are close-minded and create a polarizing rhetoric.
Another attendee reported this: Gary Peters called Rocky a 'teabagger' at the Bloomfield Twp library this morning to a room of almost all women. This is a sexually obscene phrase--look at wikipedia if you're not familiar. According to my source, the look on Peters' campaign manger's face was priceless.
I take personal offense to this kind of behavior and statement. Not only is Peters disrespectful to women but also to thousands in his district and millions around the state and country. Peters attacks are becoming shameful and he lies about Rocky every chance he gets.
By calling Rocky a teabagger and insulting the Tea Party members, he is clearly showing that he is and always will be Pelosi's lapdog. We do not and will not tolerate someone like him to represent us in Washington.

ROCKY LEADS IN FIRST GENERAL ELECTION POLL
Independent Polling Shows Incumbent Peters Trailing
Birmingham, MI - The Kelly Rossman Group, an Lansing based firm, issued tracking poll results in the 9th Congressional District today showing challenger Rocky Raczkowski up on Incumbent Congressman Gary Peters.
http://www.rockyworksforus.com/
Birmingham, MI - The Kelly Rossman Group, an Lansing based firm, issued tracking poll results in the 9th Congressional District today showing challenger Rocky Raczkowski up on Incumbent Congressman Gary Peters.
The automated poll conducted September 13th showed Raczkowski with 45 percent, Peters with 40.7 percent and 10.3 percent undecided. The other four percent were divided among the Independent, Libertarian and Green Party candidates.
"This poll reflects the fact that Gary Peters says one thing and does another. From Obamacare to the stimulus to tax cuts, Gary says one thing to middle class families in Oakland County and then goes to Washington DC and votes the other way," Raczkowski said. “Voters want a candidate with a rock solid commitment to cut taxes and stop spending so our economy can start creating jobs again."
Peters voted for the $787 billion failed federal stimulus package, last year's healthcare bill known publicly as “Obama-care”, the Cap and Trade bill which would have raised taxes and harmed the Detroit area's auto industry and has recently flip-flopped on his long standing opposition to extending the 2001 and 2003 'across the board' tax cuts which are due to expire at the end of the year.
Rocky Raczkowski is the Republican nominee for Michigan's 9th Congressional District. Raczkowski is a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves who was awarded the bronze star for meritorious service during combat operations, a successful businessman, and former Majority Floor Leader of the Michigan House of Representatives.

GARY PETERS CAN RUN, BUT HE CAN'T HIDE
Gary Peters, Congressman and incumbent for Michigan's 9th district won the '08 election on Obama's coattail. He ran as a moderate democrat. We gave him a chance. As a former lottery commissioner and stockbroker we expected him to have some understanding of the economy and relate to his constituents. But we were wrong. As soon as he got into office he totally aligned himself with Nancy Pelosi and his party, voting 95% with them, notably the healthcare bill, cap and trade, Stimulus, etc.
He is now running from his party, switching hats and declaring himself a deficit hawk. But he does not have a leg to stand on. Regarding the healthcare bill, this is what we will have to face:

This was the second setback this week for one of the party's biggest legislative achievements. The Wall St. Journal reported Wednesday that insurance companies have proposed additional rate increases ranging from 1% to 9% nationwide they they attribute specifically to new health-care coverage mandates.
Michigan Rep. Dave Camp, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee, said the rate increases underscore why lawmakers should repeal the legislation and replace it with changes that make care more affordable.
Source: Wall St. Journal, 9/9/10
Henry Payne from the Detroit News has this to say about Peters:
Peters in trouble? Who knew?
The influential Cook Political Report has moved Democrat incumbent Gary Paters' race against Rocky Raczkowski from the safe "Likely Democrat" column to the less-safe "Lean Democrat" category.
Gee, ya think Cooksie?
Anyone with a pulse in Michigan has known first-termer Peters - a big-spending Democrat in purple Oakland County - has been in trouble for months now. Peters himself has telegraphed his panic as he has tried an extreme makeover of his political persona from Pelosi Democrat to Deficit Hawk.
It better take fast - internal GOP polls show Rocky up seven.
From The Detroit News: http://apps.detnews.com/apps/blogs/watercooler/index.php#ixzz0z5Zhq2W3
The National Federation of Independent Business gave Gary Peters an F grade. Here is why:
According to the National Federation of Independent Business, the small business lobby, Peters is batting a woeful 33 percent on bills that matter to small biz in Washington.
American Clean Energy and Security Act (cap and trade):
Small Business Position: No
Peter's Vote: Yes
Obamacare, aka, The Affordable Health Care for America Act (don'tcha just love the Orwellian titles?)
Small Business Position: No
Peter's Vote: Yes
On Credit Card Bill of Rights:
Small Business Position: Yes
Peter's Vote: Yes
Peters says he has a record of "working to make it easier for small business in Oakland county." His score as a Michigan senator in 2002? He got a NFIB score of 11 percent. That's an "F."
Ads are cheap talk. But in the classroom, Peters flunks Small Business 101.
He is now taking cheap shots at Rocky Raczkowski, his opponent. Rocky will go to Washington not as a politician, but as a representative of his district's constituents. He will not be bought off by big money special interest groups, unions and lobbyists, unlike his opponent who stuffed his warchest with their big contributions amounting to over 2 million. Consequently, Rocky's warchest is not that big. If you can, donate to his campaign by going to his website at http://www.rockyworksforus.com/. Any amount will help to defeat Gary Peters.

GARY PETERS ON THE ISSUES
Congressman Gary Peters, incumbent in the Michigan 9th district is repeatedly telling his constituents that he is an independent and moderate politician. After almost 2 years of voting with his party, he is now trying to backpedal by telling us that he will help the small businessman to create jobs.
Besides voting on the 2000 page healthcare bill and the cap and trade bill, here are some more samples of how he really feels and how he voted. His change of heart is coming a little too late.
Voted YES on $192B additional anti-recession stimulus spending. (Jul 2009)
$7 billion Increase in Fund balance appropriation (without fiscal year limitation).
With respect to the Unemployment Trust Fund and to the Black Lung Disability Trust Fund: Removes the FY2010 limitation as well as the specific dollar amount for such advances, replacing them with such appropriations as may be necessary.
Increases from $315 billion to $400 billion the maximum loan principal for FY2009 commitments to guarantee single family loans insured under the Mutual Mortgage Insurance Fund (MMIF).
Increases from $300 billion to $400 billion the limit on new Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA or Ginnie Mae) commitments to issue guarantees under the Mortgage-Backed Securities Loan Guarantee Program.
Proponent's argument to vote Yes:Rep. LEWIS (D, GA-5): This bipartisan bill will provide the necessary funds to keep important transportation projects operating in States around the country. The Highway Trust Fund will run out of funding by September. We must act, and we must act now.
Opponent's argument to vote No:Rep. CAMP (R, MI-4): [This interim spending is] needed because the Democrats' economic policy has resulted in record job loss, record deficits, and none of the job creation they promised. Democrats predicted unemployment would top out at 8% if the stimulus passed; instead, it's 9.5% and rising. In Michigan, it's above 15%. The Nation's public debt and unemployment, combined, has risen by a shocking 40% [because of] literally trillions of dollars in additional spending under the Democrats' stimulus, energy, and health plans.
We had a choice when it came to the stimulus last February. We could have chosen a better policy of stimulating private-sector growth creating twice the jobs at half the price. That was the Republican plan. Instead, Democrats insisted on their government focus plan, which has produced no jobs and a mountain of debt.
Voted YES on modifying bankruptcy rules to avoid mortgage foreclosures. (Mar 2009)
Voted YES on additional $825 billion for economic recovery package. (Jan 2009)
Congressional Summary:Supplemental appropriations for job preservation and creation, infrastructure investment, energy efficiency and science, assistance to the unemployed, and State and local fiscal stabilization, for fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2009.
Proponent's argument to vote Yes:Rep. DAVID OBEY (D, WI-7): This country is facing what most economists consider to be the most serious and the most dangerous economic situation in our lifetimes. This package today is an $825 billion package that does a variety of things to try to reinflate the economy:creating or saving at least 4 million jobs rebuilding our basic infrastructure
providing for job retraining for those workers who need to learn new skills
moving toward energy independence
improving our healthcare system so all Americans can have access to quality treatment
providing tax cuts to lessen the impact of this crisis on America's working families.
Opponent's argument to vote No:
Rep. JERRY LEWIS (R, CA-51): Most of us would agree that the recent $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) is an illustration of how good intentions don't always deliver desired results. When Congress spends too much too quickly, it doesn't think through the details and oversight becomes more difficult. The lesson learned from TARP was this: we cannot manage what we do not measure. We cannot afford to make the same mistake again.
Sen. THAD COCHRAN (R, MS): We are giving the executive branch immense latitude in the disbursement of the spending this bill contains. We are doing so without any documentation of how this spending will stimulate the economy. Normally, this kind of information would be contained in an administration budget. For items that have a short-term stimulative effect, most of us will feel comfortable debating their merits as an emergency measure. But there is a great deal of spending that is not immediately stimulative.
Voted YES on monitoring TARP funds to ensure more mortgage relief. (Jan 2009)
I only wanted to emphasize on the big money votes for now.
Gary Peters did wrong by his constituents and we need to educate our neighbors and friends in this district that he is not representing them. He's received millions from special interest groups, unions and lobbyists. These are the people he is representing.
Rocky Raczkowski has the interest of his constituents at heart. He listens to them, he feels like they do and he will be the representative we need in Washington. Check out his website at http://www.rockyworksforus.com/ and then donate to his campaign by clicking on the Donate button.

TYPICAL PATHETIC AND DISCUSTING DEM CAMPAIGN TACTICS
With this post I am linking to a blog I just came across and wish for this to be widely seen and spread. People in Michigan's 9th district, both democrats and independents have to see what Gary Peters is up to. He won't hold townhalls, he won't return phone calls, his aides are rude, he lies about being fiscally conservative - pleeeaaase. Now he uses stalkers with cameras in his opponents face at every event. That's about as low as you can go. Peters has to go.
I support Republican frontrunner Rocky Raczakowski in his endeavor to beat Peters. Read about Rocky's plan and his bio here: http://www.rockyworksforus/
Now read about statist Gary Peters here, doesn't sound like the guy I want representing me.

OAKLAND COUNTY CAN BOAST ABOUT TWO ICAUCUS ENDORSED CANDIDATES - UPDATED

Paul Welday, also from the 9th district was not able to achieve the required minimum 70%, compared to Raczkowski who had 96% on his questionnaire alone and beat Welday on the interview 2 -1. (67% to 33%)Gene Taliercio was the only one brave enough in his race against Copper Rizzo, Jim Marleau, John Garfield, and Kim Russell to go through the vetting. Both Rizzo and Marleau were invited to participate several times, but they declined. Gene passed his questions and interview with high scores.
The ultimate goal of IC is to send vetted constitutional candidates to DC or Lansing and to unseat incumbents that are beholden to unions, lobbyists, and big money special interest groups. The first ever endorsed candidate is Jason Chaffetz from Utah, now making a name for himself in DC. With the help of Icaucus, early primaries show endorsed candidates having won their races, to name just a few are Bill Randall from NC, Jim DeMint from SC, John Dennis from CA (to beat Nancy Pelosi) ToddYoung from IN. To see all endorsed candidates nationwide log into http://www.icaucus.org/.
To date Michigan has other endorsed candidates worth mentioning: Robert Palmer, MI Senate, 31st , Steven Mobley, State House, 62nd, Bill Cooper, CD 2 to replace Pete Hoekstra, Tom Stillings CD 1 to take Stapak’s seat,
The following is a list of all Michigan endorsed candidates to date, with more to follow soon:

PATRIOTS BLEW THE WHISTLE ON PETERS-PELOSI HEALTH CARE TAKEOVER
After a devastating day of disappointment and disgust at Bart Stupak's traiterous act, the people in Michigan's 9th district pulled themselves up and joined Rocky Raczkowski after only a short 4 hours notice at Peters' office in Troy. It was a cold and windy day, but that did not deter the 200 + protesters.
In Rocky's short speech we learned that this bill has a terrible effect on the veterans and their tri-care coverage. In short, the people that gave the most to their country and the seniors who paid the most in will get the biggest cuts.

I believe in Rocky when he says that "Together, we can fix this! The 219-212 vote tonight for government-run health care is not the end. There is hope, and the first step is beating Gary Peters and winning a conservative majority in the U.S. House of Representatives."
Join Rocky at http://www.rockyworksforus.com/ and let's all fight this together. There is power in numbers.

GREAT NEWS FROM ROCKY RACZKOWSKI
Never Before Have Party Leaders Been More United than Now
Early Support is a Positive Sign of Grassroots Strength from Across District
Today, the entire elected Republican Party leadership of the 9th Congressional District endorsed Rocky Raczkowski, Republican candidate for U.S. House of Representatives. During a major district-wide conference call, Chairman Glenn Clark, Co-Chairman Theresa Mungioli, Secretary Joe Green, Treasurer Dan Carlson, Michigan Republican State Commiteewomen for the 9th District Barbara Harrell, Theresa Mungioli & Teresa Stayer, as well as Michigan Republican State Committeemen for the 9th District Jim Duistermars, Bob McCoy & Justin Zatkoff all endorsed Raczkowski and pledged their support to ensure he will win the Republican nomination for Congress and the eventual general election contest against U.S. Representative Gary Peters (D-MI09).

Theresa Mungioli, Co-Chairman of the 9th Congressional District Republican Party said,, “Rocky has been a friend to Republicans across our district for many years. We know and trust him. Rocky has set the grassroots of our party on fire by his message of less government, more freedom and a return to Constitutional principles that made our nation great. His conservative Republicans ideals can and will draw more and more activists to him throughout the campaign. He will be our nominee because he speaks our language.”
In response to the resounding endorsements, Raczkowski stated, “Grassroots support like this means our conservative message of standing up for the Constitution and defending individual liberty is getting through. I am proud to be the candidate who stands proudly for we the people.”
Please, join our campaign and help provide the resources needed to reach every voter in the 9th District. Make a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or any amount that you can afford to help put "we the people" back in charge.
We're also pleased to report that more than 400 patriots have signed up to volunteer on the campaign. But, we need more committed volunteers to beat the big money, special interests who are running Washington today. So, please volunteer.
This is from Rotti:
Please go to Rocky's website at http://www.rockyworksforus/ and sign up to volunteer or make a donation, any amount you can afford. President Obama got million of $ 5 campaign contribution, we can do that, too. It is very costly to campaign, more than most people realize. I've been involved in a local campaign before and was shocked how much a candidate has to spend in order to succeed. But in this case, it is more important than ever to beat Gary Peters who receives all his campaign money from unions and special interest groups that he is beholden to.
Thank you for your support.
