The election is barely over and already speculations are surfacing what is going to happen next. I was appalled but not surprised to read in one blog that there would be a good chance for Gary Peters running for Senate or even Governor in 2014. Can you imagine having a male version of Granholm all over again?
http://scottyurb.blogspot.com/2010/11/coming-soon-to-ballot-near-you-part-i.html
Below is in short the possible forecast for Gary Peters.
Congressman Gary Peters originally sought to be Governor during the 2002 campaign, but dropped out because he diodn't have nearly enough support. He narrowly lost the race for Attorney General that year - the first Democrat to lose a race for that office in 50 years.
Gary Peters and Hansen Clarke: Re-election in 2012, then in 2014, one can run for Governor while the other runs for US Senate. (I'd be shocked if Carl Levin ran for another term in 2014.)
Looks to me, the battle will continue. I am still Gary Peters' nightmare.

Gary Peters' disregard for our Veterans - Salvation Army coming to the Rescue
Back in July, Gary Peters and his "new Dem" cohorts pretended to become our deficit hawks. One of the many items Peters wanted to cut were 22 Million for disabled Veteran's housing. Read below:
Peters and three other Dems got major heat for trying to cut more than $1 billion in spending that was added to the fiscal year 2011 budget because House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and other Dem leaders had asked for deficit-reducing trims on the budget.
And all of the spending they were targeting wasn't requested by the White House; instead, it was spending added on at the request of Democrats during the appropriations process. According to The Hill, the cuts included "... $400 million for national infrastructure investment; $400 million for high speed rail development; $200 million in HOPE IV housing grants; and $22 million for housing assistance vouchers for disabled
veterans."
From The Detroit News: http://apps.detnews.com/apps/blogs/dcblog/index.php?category=Michigan%20and%20Washington#ixzz150gCcsvh
In contrast, the Salvation Army is now coming to the aid of homeless veterans by breaking ground in the spring to provide housing to homeless veterans. The need for transitional housing is on the rise and the Salvation Army is investing $ 10.2 Million in Clinton Twn and Detroit. http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20101111/SUB/311119995
On this Veterans Day, thank our current and past Military and thank the Salvation Army for caring and helping. Gary Peters certainly didn't think much of our Vets.

OBAMA CARE ENDS HERE
Remember on November 2nd that Gary Peters voted for Obamacare in spite of the fact that the voters in his district didn't want it. He voted for Cap and Trade and the Stimulus. His votes will impose massive tax increase to the residents in the 9th district, the Stimulus worked so well that we have 60,000 people unemployed in Oakland County. Rocky will listen to us. Vote for Rocky and help him defeat Gary Peters by clicking on the Donate button on the right side of this page.

THE DOWNSIDE OF GARY PETERS' SMALL BUSINESS JOBS ACT
The recently passed Small Business Jobs Act sponsored by Gary Peters is not all it's cracked up to be. It is supposed to be designed to increase lending to small businesses and create incentives for small business investments. What I hear, however, is that most businesses do not want to have anything to do with the government. What I hear from some banks is that they won't lend if they don't have the money themselves, they do not want borrowed government funds shoved down their throats.
Here is an excerpt of an email I received with a different take on this situation.
"Peters makes it sound like those d*** banks won't do their job and lend to small businesses. What's wrong with them? The banks (Wall Street) are the bad guys.
Now comes Gary Peters and his trusty companion Tonto to the rescue. By printing another $50 billion, and saying that this "extra" money can't be borrowed by the feds - there is now money that the government can FORCE the banks to lend to businesses.
The fallacy is that - if the feds were not borrowing every REAL dollar and every FIAT dollar in the economy - with their Stimulus spending, annual budget deficits, and bailouts of every nature - there WOULD ALREADY be funds available to lend.
In 20 months, Gary Peters aided and abetted the theft of more dollars from the American People than all the presidents from Washington through Reagan - COMBINED".
I've got a job that brings in money (taxes). I wish it was more since my wife (Congress) always spends a lot more than I bring home. I don't have the courage to get my wife to slow down her spending. Where would I have her cut? Everything is so important. Clothes, groceries, cable TV, hair styling, magazines, lawn service, Friday casino night, restaurants, ball game tickets, car repairs. The list never ends.
In the meantime, my kids (small businesses) are not eating a lunch at school. All our money is tied up in credit cards and debts. The kids are ornery, their teachers are complaining, and the pediatrician visits are more frequent. There's no money left to pay for lunches.
Who is the bad guy? My boss (the taxpayers). He's not paying me enough. If ONLY he would pay me more - and more - and more - I could fix everything. So I'll keep asking for raises and pad my expense reports more.
Finally, the school principal calls. "Your kids need lunch money. They are no longer studying (working) because they don't have any energy (jobs). They need lunch money (loans) to get energy (jobs, productivity) so they can study (do more business).
I respond, "Your cafeteria (the banks) should be giving them free lunches (private loans). I pay my school taxes - there should be plenty of money for the school cafeterias to do their job - give the kids lunches, like they were set up to do." The principal states that the taxes pay for teachers and school costs - not for lunches.
After weeks of unsuccessful pressuring of the school (banks, another bad guy) to give my kids free lunches, I steal (not REALLY my money) $100 from a co-worker's wallet and send it to the school to pay for a lunch card for my kids.
So one month later, my kids are eating lunches but still aren't working very hard. They are conserving their energy, because they don't know when the lunch money will run out. They won't go out for any sports (hiring) - sticking to the basics - too much risk of overextending their available energy (funds).
My boss (taxpayers) wants to fire me. He can't keep paying me more and he's tired of my constant harping for a raise. Also he's tired of the accountant telling him that he found something else funny with my expense reports.
But my wife keeps on spending. And I am still in denial that I am also spending, too.
If only the lunch money lasts until I hit my big score at the casino (November 2nd). Then everything will be great.
A reading from the Book of Peters, Chapter 1, verses 1 through 10. Therein endeth the lesson. Praise Be to Pelosi. Amen.

GARY PETERS ON THE ISSUES
Congressman Gary Peters, incumbent in the Michigan 9th district is repeatedly telling his constituents that he is an independent and moderate politician. After almost 2 years of voting with his party, he is now trying to backpedal by telling us that he will help the small businessman to create jobs.
Besides voting on the 2000 page healthcare bill and the cap and trade bill, here are some more samples of how he really feels and how he voted. His change of heart is coming a little too late.
Voted YES on $192B additional anti-recession stimulus spending. (Jul 2009)
$7 billion Increase in Fund balance appropriation (without fiscal year limitation).
With respect to the Unemployment Trust Fund and to the Black Lung Disability Trust Fund: Removes the FY2010 limitation as well as the specific dollar amount for such advances, replacing them with such appropriations as may be necessary.
Increases from $315 billion to $400 billion the maximum loan principal for FY2009 commitments to guarantee single family loans insured under the Mutual Mortgage Insurance Fund (MMIF).
Increases from $300 billion to $400 billion the limit on new Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA or Ginnie Mae) commitments to issue guarantees under the Mortgage-Backed Securities Loan Guarantee Program.
Proponent's argument to vote Yes:Rep. LEWIS (D, GA-5): This bipartisan bill will provide the necessary funds to keep important transportation projects operating in States around the country. The Highway Trust Fund will run out of funding by September. We must act, and we must act now.
Opponent's argument to vote No:Rep. CAMP (R, MI-4): [This interim spending is] needed because the Democrats' economic policy has resulted in record job loss, record deficits, and none of the job creation they promised. Democrats predicted unemployment would top out at 8% if the stimulus passed; instead, it's 9.5% and rising. In Michigan, it's above 15%. The Nation's public debt and unemployment, combined, has risen by a shocking 40% [because of] literally trillions of dollars in additional spending under the Democrats' stimulus, energy, and health plans.
We had a choice when it came to the stimulus last February. We could have chosen a better policy of stimulating private-sector growth creating twice the jobs at half the price. That was the Republican plan. Instead, Democrats insisted on their government focus plan, which has produced no jobs and a mountain of debt.
Voted YES on modifying bankruptcy rules to avoid mortgage foreclosures. (Mar 2009)
Voted YES on additional $825 billion for economic recovery package. (Jan 2009)
Congressional Summary:Supplemental appropriations for job preservation and creation, infrastructure investment, energy efficiency and science, assistance to the unemployed, and State and local fiscal stabilization, for fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2009.
Proponent's argument to vote Yes:Rep. DAVID OBEY (D, WI-7): This country is facing what most economists consider to be the most serious and the most dangerous economic situation in our lifetimes. This package today is an $825 billion package that does a variety of things to try to reinflate the economy:creating or saving at least 4 million jobs rebuilding our basic infrastructure
providing for job retraining for those workers who need to learn new skills
moving toward energy independence
improving our healthcare system so all Americans can have access to quality treatment
providing tax cuts to lessen the impact of this crisis on America's working families.
Opponent's argument to vote No:
Rep. JERRY LEWIS (R, CA-51): Most of us would agree that the recent $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) is an illustration of how good intentions don't always deliver desired results. When Congress spends too much too quickly, it doesn't think through the details and oversight becomes more difficult. The lesson learned from TARP was this: we cannot manage what we do not measure. We cannot afford to make the same mistake again.
Sen. THAD COCHRAN (R, MS): We are giving the executive branch immense latitude in the disbursement of the spending this bill contains. We are doing so without any documentation of how this spending will stimulate the economy. Normally, this kind of information would be contained in an administration budget. For items that have a short-term stimulative effect, most of us will feel comfortable debating their merits as an emergency measure. But there is a great deal of spending that is not immediately stimulative.
Voted YES on monitoring TARP funds to ensure more mortgage relief. (Jan 2009)
I only wanted to emphasize on the big money votes for now.
Gary Peters did wrong by his constituents and we need to educate our neighbors and friends in this district that he is not representing them. He's received millions from special interest groups, unions and lobbyists. These are the people he is representing.

GARY PETERS TELLING MORE LIES TO SENIORS
From a small town style newspaper, The Rochester Citizen, I recently learned that Gary Peters held a townhall style meeting with the OCP, the Old People Commission. He apparently didn't get too warm of a reception when he continued to insist on his vote for the health care bill. But that is old news about him. The new lie really got to me when he introduced an agent for the Area Agency on Aging and ALL the services they provide. http://tinyurl.com/37khz52
I happen to know the most passionate volunteer for that particular agency and I also know that this agency had their funding cut. Read the truth here http://tinyurl.com/38ou7u2
I, too, have been concerned about this issue, after all, someday we'll all be at that point in our lives and for the state to cut funding there is incomprehensible to me. Instead of Peters investigating this, and he even pointed out his aging parents, he just said all is ok.
This is the real story about the Area Agency for Aging http://rottitoo.blogspot.com/2009/12/helping-angel-at-work-again.html
When is Gary Peters ever going to see and tell the truth about what is going on in Michigan.

POOR GARY PETERS IS BEING TARGETED
Today's article in the Oakland Press almost made me choke. Poor Gary Peters, the "centrist" congressman from the 9th district is being attacked by three opponents all at once. This whining kind of attitude almost made me cringe. Who do they think they are kidding. Read the Oakland Press article here http://tinyurl.com/y9u4vzu and now read my comment which I added to the comment section:
Poor Gary Peters is being attacked? So typical liberal whining when they don't get their way or are critized. Dan Farough thinks that our candidates positions are extreme and have no solutions? The truth is every one of them has positions and solutions that would work. The party of NO has an excellent solution to health care that would cover the uninsured and still keep the cost down, but nobody bothered to look at it, they got shut out. Mr. Farough, wake up and stop drinking the kool-aid. These are the facts about your dear Mr. Peters:
He voted with his party 95%, that's more than the average. He voted YES on Cap and Trade and all health care bills, both of which are economy and job killers, besides the fact that they would lead us to socialism and economic collapse. He scored 1% among all Michigan congressman to remove pork earmarks with 0% being the worst and 100% the best. The highest ranking Michigan congressman was Pete Hoekstra.
Furthermore, Peters refused the political courage test, was unresponsive to his constituents, does not return calls, is unavailable when called or visiting and sends back canned letters. His top political contributions came from organizations like ACT Blue, all different unions, lawyers, lobbyists, the DNC, out of state unions and the least from individuals. This tells me that all along he was beholden not only to Madame Pelosi but also to all these unions and special interest groups. Mr. Farough, don't go telling us about special interest groups, it's you people that take from them. Gary Peters has done nothing good for his district and I am blessed to have the time and energy to do all I can to help a candidate and his team to unseat Peters in November. Nothing would give me more pleasure.
The candidate that can beat Peters is Rocky Raczkowski http://www.rockyworksforus.com/. Check it out for yourself and join the team.

PATRIOTS BLEW THE WHISTLE ON PETERS-PELOSI HEALTH CARE TAKEOVER
After a devastating day of disappointment and disgust at Bart Stupak's traiterous act, the people in Michigan's 9th district pulled themselves up and joined Rocky Raczkowski after only a short 4 hours notice at Peters' office in Troy. It was a cold and windy day, but that did not deter the 200 + protesters.
In Rocky's short speech we learned that this bill has a terrible effect on the veterans and their tri-care coverage. In short, the people that gave the most to their country and the seniors who paid the most in will get the biggest cuts.

I believe in Rocky when he says that "Together, we can fix this! The 219-212 vote tonight for government-run health care is not the end. There is hope, and the first step is beating Gary Peters and winning a conservative majority in the U.S. House of Representatives."
Join Rocky at http://www.rockyworksforus.com/ and let's all fight this together. There is power in numbers.

RESPONSE FROM CONGRESSMAN PETERS
The following is a response to my request to Gary Peters to vote NO on the health care bill. Apparently, he is still not listening to his constituents in Oakland County. Needless to say. we need to work even harder now to replace him this November with a conservative person that is willing to listen and work for us.
Dear Mrs..........
Thank you for contacting me regarding the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962). I greatly appreciate you taking the time to express your views on this very important matter. Your input is, and always will be, welcomed and appreciated.
After reviewing our current situation closely and speaking with thousands of Oakland Country residents, I believe that serious reforms are needed in the health care system. In Michigan health care premiums have risen 17 times faster than wages, and families are finding it increasingly difficult to afford coverage. In Michigan's 9th district alone, there were 1,880 health care related bankruptcies in 2008. Moreover, annual U.S. health care spending is expected to reach $4.3 trillion in 2017, an astonishing 20 percent of our nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Clearly, this is an unsustainable course and action is needed now to reduce health care costs for businesses and families before out of control health care spending further damages the economy.
H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act, passed the House on November 7, 2009. Before this vote occurred, I outlined several core principles that any health proposal must meet to secure my vote. In the months leading up to the vote I met with hundreds of doctors, hospitals, and health care stakeholders from Oakland County. After carefully reviewing and reading the legislation, and after receiving the feedback of thousands of Oakland county residents through town halls, tele-town halls, letters, phone calls, and other public events, I concluded that H.R. 3962 met my principles and would reduce insurance costs for families, businesses and seniors. Furthermore, I found that many improvements and changes were addressed in H.R. 3962 that were raised by constituents in the course of the above meetings. While I agree that this bill is not perfect, it is nevertheless a clear improvement from the status quo for Oakland County residents.
believe that health care reform should bring down health care costs for businesses and middle class families by creating real market competition, expanding choice and making our system more efficient. Under H.R. 3962, small businesses and individuals could shop on an affordable insurance exchange, an online marketplace where insurance companies would compete for the business of a multi-million person pool of Americans. The exchange would include one public option, which would have to survive on its own premiums as private plans do, that would also compete for business on the exchange. Health care reform must not increase the deficit. I was pleased to see the final House bill is not only fully paid for, but that it actually reduces the deficit by $30 billion.
Medicare is a sacred trust with America's seniors, and I have always said it is essential that Medicare is preserved, protected, and strengthened in health care reform. The health bill reduces prescription drug prices in the "donut hole" by 50% in 2010 and closes the gap in coverage completely by 2019. The bill eliminates co-pays on preventative care for Medicare recipients so that preventative services like diabetes and cancer screenings are available to seniors free of charge. The bill reduces waste and fraud and cuts inefficient overpayments to private insurance companies. These measures not only improve the quality of the program, they will also protect the long-term solvency of Medicare and ensure it is available for years to come and lower the deficit. The health care reform bill also includes a provision that allows the Secretary of Health and Human Services to negotiate a better deal on prescription drug prices for seniors. This is a request I repeatedly heard from Oakland County seniors and was something that I fought for and urged Democratic leadership to include in the bill.
The health care reform bill included even more competition than previous proposals and includes the Republican idea of allowing insurance to be purchased across state lines through interstate compacts. Competition is further enhanced through a provision that stipulates health insurance companies would no longer be exempt from anti-trust laws. In addition to a more competitive insurance market, the bill reduces insurance costs through innovative delivery systems and focuses on coordinated care models, and creates a Center for Medicare Innovation to pursue further delivery system reforms
Health care reform is especially important for small businesses, which are essential to Michigan's economic recovery. They employ half of all private sector employees, and are responsible for creating 60-80% of all new jobs over the last decade, are currently at a significant disadvantage when it comes to providing healthcare to their employees. Small businesses currently pay 18% higher premiums and double the deductibles as larger corporations for the same coverage. Under the reform bill, they will be able to take advantage of low group rates and reduced administrative costs in the exchange. Small businesses would also receive a tax credit to help them purchase health insurance for their employees. Current projections show that if no action is taken one in five small businesses will drop their employees' health coverage in the coming years. The cost saving to small businesses included in the bill are essential to ensuring that they can continue to cover their employees and offer compensation that is competitive with larger firms.
I believe health care reform should make the health system more stable so that one job loss, serious illness or other unforeseen event does not lead to bankruptcy or loss of access to health care. The health bill achieves greater stability for families because if an employee loses his or her job, he or she can purchase affordable coverage through the exchange. A provision was added that lets children stay on their parents coverage until they are 27 if the parents choose, so they're not uninsured if they do not get a job that provides health care immediately after college. Those with financial hardship will receive discounts to ensure they can afford health care.
Health care reform must end discriminatory practices by insurance companies, and the health bill does exactly that. The bill prevents insurance companies from denying coverage to people with preexisting conditions, ends annual and lifetime benefit limits, and caps out of pocket expenses at $10,000 per family per year. The bill prohibits egregious gender and age discrimination, which is commonplace in the individual market. For example, women are charged up to 48% higher premiums than men for the same coverage. This practice will end under the health care reform bill. The bill also requires critical services be covered. For example, 79% of individual policies nationwide don't cover maternity care, and in Michigan this number can be as high as 98% in the individual market. Maternity care will be covered by insurance plans after reform, and pre-existing conditions will not be used to deny anybody coverage.
Finally, I thought the process for debating and passing the health care bill must be fair and transparent. I fought alongside a group of my colleagues to ensure the original deadline for passing health care reform at the end of July was abandoned, allowing for more time to listen to local residents and think through all of the bill's provisions. Ultimately the bill was improved during this time thanks to the input of Oakland County residents like yourself. I also pressured leadership to agree to post final legislation for at least 72 hours prior to the vote. The House bill was online for eight days before it was voted on, with the manager's amendment online for four days before the vote. These documents were all made available on my website, and I will continue to provide residents with the most up to date information my website as it becomes available.
The health care reform bill must now be approved by the Senate, and will likely undergo further changes before a final package is voted on by both houses and signed into law. The current healthcare system is badly in need of reform. As the process continues, I will continue to support measures that will lower costs for families, businesses and seniors. I will take these principles along with your views into consideration while evaluating the legislation as it moves forward in the Senate and towards a final House vote.
I would like to thank you again for contacting me. I always appreciate hearing from constituents, and hope that you take the time to contact me again soon. For more information, please feel free to visit my website, http://www.peters.house.gov

INTERVIEW WITH ROCKY RACZKOWSKI, CANDIDATE FOR MI 9TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
If you have not had a chance to meet Rocky Raczkowski or attend one of his events, this interview might inspire you to do so. Rocky is a solid conservative and an excellent speaker that attracts the crowds. I happened across this interview on "Jumping in Pools" which was originally posted February 10, 2010.
Jumping in Pools is proud to present number 57 in our interview series. This time we're interviewing Rocky Raczkowski, who is a candidate for in the 9th Michigan Congressional District. He is a combat veteran in the United States military and has served in the Michigan State Legislature. His website can be found at http://www.rockyworksforus.com/
Read the entire interview here: http://tinyurl.com/yg6fh95
Rocky is running against Congressman Gary Peters, the most statist, far left liberal in the House of Representatives. Peters won the 2008 election against Joe Knollenberg and ran as a moderate democrat, that is, until Nancy Pelosi got ahold of him. He voted 98% with his party. He must go and Rocky Raczkowski, a strong campaigner and hard worker can fill his seat and wants to work for us.

**US CONGRESSMAN GARY PETERS TO ANNOUNCE INCREASE IN REFUGEE FUNDING MONDAY
Our neighbors, friends are suffering because of the economy. There is no more money to be spend and this is what Gary Peters is wanting to do now. I recommend another protest, call his offices, fax him, whatever it takes to let him know this is outrageous at a time like this. Charity starts at home, period. See my cross-post here: http://tinyurl.com/yhokaqn

CONGRESSMAN PETERS TO ANNOUNCE INCREASE IN REFUGEE FUNDING MONDAY
Congressman Peters to Meet Directly with Displaced Iraqis at Refugee Workshop
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Gary Peters will announce a substantial increase in immigrant support at a Refugee workshop this Monday, February 8th in Troy. Congressman Peters will meet directly with displaced Iraqis to discuss the US Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration increase of the reception and placement per-refugee stipend for refugee resettlement agencies from $900 to $1,800 to help people and families who have fled to the United States pay for items necessary to gain a foothold and begin a new life in America. While the entire grant to resettlement agencies is doubled, the portion dedicated to direct refugee benefits has increased more than twice as much, from $450 to $1100.
“This increase in resettlement funding will ensure refugees fleeing from war torn lands are better able to become independent, productive and assimilated members of their new communities,” said Rep. Peters, who has made advocating for Iraqi refugees a top priority. “While this news is certainly positive, we must keep fighting to help ensure that refugees displaced by war have the full means to survive and work to become productive, respected members of society. I am proud that southeast Michigan is home to many Iraqis who demonstrate hard work and the drive to succeed every day.”
The reception and placement grant is used by resettlement agencies to support refugees’ immediate needs upon arrival to the United States. Funds are designed to take care of the refugee in their first weeks of arrival before traditional support services can be accessed, and are used to provide such basic needs as housing, groceries, and referrals to ESL classes and job training programs. The reception and placement grant also funds the resettlement agencies’ overhead and management costs. This much needed increase will help resettlement agencies expand the quality of services and resources they are able to provide new refugees, and lessen the burden placed on private charities who continue to provide additional support to Iraqi refugees in the face of declining donations and difficult economic times.
Congressman Gary Peters and his staff meet with refugee support agencies on a regular basis to remain deeply engaged in the relocation process and fully informed and effective when advocating for refugees in Washington. To continue furthering his understanding of the refugee process, Congressman Peters will meet directly and listen to the real life experiences of recently relocated refugees at Monday’s workshop at Faith Lutheran Church in Troy at 5:30pm. The Workshop is organized by the Archdiocese of Detroit with the assistance of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and Lutheran Social Services of Michigan.

ROCKY TO HOST UNIQUE CAMPAIGN EVENTS ON FEBRUARY 6th, 2010
Rocky Raczkowski is the first candidate to air campaign ads announcing his campaign for Congress and inviting the community to a Townhall meeting.
The event is the first of its kind in Michigan because it's all about you. You'll get a chance to learn about Rocky and his stand on the issues, but the main focus of the event is a strategy session/town hall meeting -- an opportunity for your voice to be heard. These sessions will be a dialogue that will help our campaign connect with voters and make sure your ideas and concerns are addressed on the campaign trail and ultimately in Washington.
We can't beat Gary Peters and his liberal pals like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid without your ideas and your understanding of families throughout the 9th district.
The event will also allow interested individuals an opportunity to sign up and volunteer to join the campaign and Team Rocky! The townhall/strategy sessions will be held at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, Michigan (located on the NW corner of Maple and Dequindre) on Saturday, February 6th.
There will be three (3) separate briefings throughout the day starting at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. Please preregister to attend one of the sessions. Just click on the link located on our campaign home page: http://www.rockyworksforus.com/.
Please remember, it is very important to pre-register so that we are aware of how many people to expect.
PLEASE, DONATE TO OUR VICTORY:
We are almost at our goal of new donors. We thank you for your support and ask for your support all the way through until Team Rocky wins on Election Day in November.
Again, click and register for the event using the link on our home page at: http://www.rockyworksforus.com/ or give us a call at: 248-388-4664.
I looking forward to seeing on Saturday and serving you in the U.S. House of Representatives,
Rocky Raczkowski
Candidate, to work for YOU in Congress!

PROTEST PERMEATES GARY PETERS' PRECINCT
Below is a write-up in the Oakland Press on yesterday's Tea Party Protest in Gary Peter's neighborhood. As I was not present I can't vouch for the correctness on number of participants. It was interesting to me that the writer did not pick up on the fact that the Party organized the Tea Party and not one of the many grassroots groups. But I voiced my opinion on that in my previous post. Please take the time to read the comments at the end of this article because that gives us a much better idea where we are at as of right now. Seems to me we have a lot of work to do, a lot of going door-to-door (organized by grassroots groups). We'll never be able to deal with hard core progressives, but we need to educate all the independent voters that really don't have a clue. I understand to some degree why some folks are like that, jobs, kids, problems in general keeps them from getting involved or interested in government policies.

GARY PETERS IS FEELING THE HEAT

Dear Steve,
Complacency is not an option.
Anyone who thought that we wouldn't have to work hard to be successful this election year learned a lesson from watching Democrats lose the Senate seat held for almost half a century by the late Senator Ted Kennedy.
Emboldened by what they did in Massachusetts, the right-wing extremists are now targeting me. They’re hoping to catch us asleep at the switch so they can bring back the same failed policies that got us into this economic crisis to begin with.
Let’s take nothing for granted this year. Please contribute $10, $25, or more to provide the resources we need to fight back against the special-interests and continue the great progress we’ve made for Michigan’s middle class families.
Michigan families are understandably anxious about the economic mess that we inherited. I hear the stories of people across Oakland County every day who are struggling to find a job, pay the mortgage, and afford health care for their families.
Even though our economic problems can’t be fixed in a year, we’ve made progress and will make even more in the weeks and months ahead. Now is not the time to turn the clock back to the same failed policies that have cost us millions of jobs as my opponents would do.
We cannot take anything for granted. Please contribute $10, $25, or more to show that my grassroots support in Oakland County and beyond is stronger than ever.
As you know, I am the first Democrat to represent this district since 1893. Now, after what happened in Massachusetts, the special interests are pouring money into helping the Republicans defeat me in November. I need your help to gather the resources now to make sure no attack goes unanswered and we can contact each and every voter this year.
It is time to kick things into high gear so we can keep working to get our Michigan and our country back on the right track. I’m ready if you are.
Thank you,
Gary
P.S. The extremists on the right are targeting me this year. I’m taking nothing for granted and, after what happened in Massachusetts, I’m hoping that you won’t either. Please contribute $10, $25, or more to provide the resources we need to fight back and continue making progress for Michigan. Then, spread the word on Facebook!

Candidate Rocky Raczkowski at GOP forum: I'm hoping to 'wipe the snot out of Gary Peters'
I went to the Oakland County Candidate forum last Thursday. It was a potluck event that turned out great. The attendance was very good. Three candidates spoke and there was questions and answers afterwards. Here is a good article on this by Michigan Live: http://tinyurl.com/yhvt2s2

GARY PETERS APPROPRIATED 1.3 MILL FOR TROY/BIRMINGHAM TRANSIT CENTER
So, he squeezed out 1.3 Million for the Transit Center, which is to be located on the Troy/Birmigham boundaries. The project will cost many more millions. Where is that money coming from? In the form of new revenues (spelled taxes) such as millages and property taxes to community residents? Everyone just seems so happy Peters got this through, and I can see city officials now endorsing Peters. Our roads and infastructure are in dire need of repair. We have county roads that are still gravel and dirt, I live on one, it's not pleasant. This is what government is for and we are now building a transit system, I forgot, tell me again why we are doing this. Is it for the Green jobs? Is it to bring Detroit residents to the suburbs to work?

GARY PETERS' STATEMENT WHY HE SUPPORTED HR 3962
Rep. Peters Statement On H.R. 3962
Congressman Gary Peters released the following statement today regarding his decision to support H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act:
"After thoroughly studying the bill and talking with thousands of Oakland County residents and medical professionals, it is clear we must act to lower health care costs for families, seniors and businesses. This plan's reform is market-based; expanding choice, competition and stability; makes our system more efficient and does not add to the deficit. AARP supports this bill because Medicare would be strengthened, closing the prescription drug donut hole and providing new preventative care at no cost for seniors.
