PAUL WELDAY, ONE OF OAKLAND COUNTY'S GOOD OLE BOY'S MISLEADING CAMPAIGN AD

I've listened to this ad three times as I couldn't believe what I heard and saw the first two times. This is one of the most misleading representations of a candidate I've ever seen as the video portrays a guy that's working in a manufacturing environment, the audio claims he owns a small business,  whereas in reality, Mr. Welday is and has been for a long time a lobbyist with ties to big corporations.  He is a founder and partner in Strategic Federal Affairs with offices in Michigan and Washington DC.

Then I heard him say that he is not a career politician.  That is just not true.  Mr. Welday has been involved in politics his entire adult life. He started as a political organizer, and eventually became the chief of staff to former Congressman Joe Knollenberg, who voted against the Bush bailout before he voted for it.  Joe Knollenberg is a lobbyist himself now in one of the spin off firms of Strategic Federal Affairs.  This is just too coincidental. When in 2008 Paul Welday lost a second time  a race for a State House seat, he immediately ran for the Oakland County Party Chair seat.  Incidently, the brother of the current Oakland County Party Chair is one of Welday's partners.  Small world.  I have great concern when a person can't win a state house seat but thinks he can win against the most well funded liberal the democrats have. Finally, he claims that he will create jobs for his district.  Government does not and should not create jobs.  The fact that he is a husband and a father does not qualify him or anyone else to be a representative.  I think this video/audio is a flop.

ROCKY WINS THE INDEPENDENCE CAUCUS ENDORSEMENT

"Congratulations to Rocky Raczkowski on winning the vote 2 to 1 over Welday and becoming our 3rd Endorsed candidate in Michigan and our 1st Endorsed U.S. Congressional candidate in this state. I have been holding back on making any comments besides the interview committee recommendation to avoid showing my bias. Now I can state that Rocky is going to be a fantastic Representative for the 9th District, Michigan and the USA. He has convinced me that he will listen to us and defend the Constitution as he has demonstrated for the past 24 years of Military Service and in State office. He will also oppose statism and promote free enterprise and individual liberty.

This race will get national attention because it is considered a toss-up by the so-called experts. It flipped to a liberal in 2008. It will be up to all of us to help our membership grow to make sure it flips back to a conservative in 2010."

GREAT NEWS FROM ROCKY RACZKOWSKI

Never Before Have Party Leaders Been More United than Now

Early Support is a Positive Sign of Grassroots Strength from Across District

Today, the entire elected Republican Party leadership of the 9th Congressional District endorsed Rocky Raczkowski, Republican candidate for U.S. House of Representatives. During a major district-wide conference call, Chairman Glenn Clark, Co-Chairman Theresa Mungioli, Secretary Joe Green, Treasurer Dan Carlson, Michigan Republican State Commiteewomen for the 9th District Barbara Harrell, Theresa Mungioli & Teresa Stayer, as well as Michigan Republican State Committeemen for the 9th District Jim Duistermars, Bob McCoy & Justin Zatkoff all endorsed Raczkowski and pledged their support to ensure he will win the Republican nomination for Congress and the eventual general election contest against U.S. Representative Gary Peters (D-MI09).

“Never before has every leader of the 9th District GOP organization been completely on the same page as far as endorsements go,” said 9th District Chairman Glenn Clark. “Every one of our Republican elected leaders within the party structure agree that Rocky Raczkowski is the only proven conservative Republican who has shown an ability to put a winning coalition together to win elective office locally. His principled support of our commonly-held values show he is the right candidate to carry our party’s standard against out-of-touch liberal Gary Peters. Rocky can and will win in November because he has the right stuff to be our Congressman.”

Theresa Mungioli, Co-Chairman of the 9th Congressional District Republican Party said,, “Rocky has been a friend to Republicans across our district for many years. We know and trust him. Rocky has set the grassroots of our party on fire by his message of less government, more freedom and a return to Constitutional principles that made our nation great. His conservative Republicans ideals can and will draw more and more activists to him throughout the campaign. He will be our nominee because he speaks our language.”

In response to the resounding endorsements, Raczkowski stated, “Grassroots support like this means our conservative message of standing up for the Constitution and defending individual liberty is getting through. I am proud to be the candidate who stands proudly for we the people.”

Please, join our campaign and help provide the resources needed to reach every voter in the 9th District. Make a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or any amount that you can afford to help put "we the people" back in charge.

We're also pleased to report that more than 400 patriots have signed up to volunteer on the campaign. But, we need more committed volunteers to beat the big money, special interests who are running Washington today. So, please volunteer.

This is from Rotti:
Please go to Rocky's website at http://www.rockyworksforus/ and sign up to volunteer or make a donation, any amount you can afford. President Obama got million of $ 5 campaign contribution, we can do that, too.   It is very costly to campaign, more than most people realize.  I've been involved in a local  campaign before and was shocked how much a candidate has to spend in order to succeed.  But in this case, it is more important than ever to beat Gary Peters who receives all his campaign money from unions and special interest groups that he is beholden to.
Thank you for your support.

Candidate Rocky Raczkowski at GOP forum: I'm hoping to 'wipe the snot out of Gary Peters'

I went to the Oakland County Candidate forum last Thursday. It was a potluck event that turned out great. The attendance was very good. Three candidates spoke and there was questions and answers afterwards. Here is a good article on this by Michigan Live: http://tinyurl.com/yhvt2s2

GARY PETERS APPROPRIATED 1.3 MILL FOR TROY/BIRMINGHAM TRANSIT CENTER

So, he squeezed out 1.3 Million for the Transit Center, which is to be located on the Troy/Birmigham boundaries.  The project will cost many more millions.  Where is that money coming from?  In the form of new revenues (spelled taxes) such as millages and property taxes to community residents?  Everyone just seems so happy Peters got this through, and I can see city officials now endorsing Peters.  Our roads and infastructure are in dire need of repair.  We have county roads that are still gravel and dirt, I live on one, it's not pleasant. This is what government is for and we are now building a transit system,  I forgot, tell me again why we are doing this.  Is it for the Green jobs?  Is it to bring Detroit residents to the suburbs to work?
Read the article here:

Gary Peters needs to go, the sooner the better and we have to elect a conservative candidate that understands the people of Oakland County, that WANTS to WORK for US, and not the special interest groups that Peters works for.

DUMP GARY PETERS.

9TH DISTRICT GOP PANCAKES AND POLITICS

I  just returned from the 9th GOP pancakes and politics. It was again surprising to me that Rick Snyder won the straw poll, and already he's announcing it all over Facebook. He certainly is a very smart businessman and I think economically he makes some sense. Having said that. Hoekstra, who won 3rd in the poll got my vote, not only for what he stands, i.e. fairtax, smaller government, right to work state etc, his presence demands some respect that I don't get from the other candidates. Here is a video of Hoekstra at the event:

From all the candidates for Sec of State, Michele McManus seems to be the most conservative, a real firecracker full of spunk and energy and she got my vote, too.

The candidates for congress did not get to talk today, but they made the rounds and Rocky Raczakowski won by a great margin, with Paul Welday in 2nd, and the 2 new ones following with very few votes.

The room was packed and  it was exciting to see so much interest and energy.

A HEARTFELT TRIBUTE TO OUR TROOPS

Thank you Rocky Raczkowski for your service to this country. Thank you for wanting to continue to serve.

Veterans Day Message from Rocky Raczkowski

"On my last tour of duty in Somalia, I can remember being asked by one of my men, 'Major, if you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?' And without hesitation, I said to him, 'home in Michigan.' I know that every man and woman in the service feels the same way. We love America, our home, and can't wait to get back.

"When I came home a couple of months ago, I was overjoyed to see family and friends but was saddened to see that America wasn't the same and that some of our boundless hope and optimism had been replaced by fear and worry, especially about the sagging economy and job losses.

"So, on this Veterans Day, as brave men and women make sacrifices for us in the most dangerous places in the world and dream about returning home, let's resolve to do everything in our power to make the America our troops come home to stronger, safer and more prosperous. Let's get our economy creating jobs again so that we can replace every 'for sale' sign with a 'help wanted' sign. That's the best tribute we can give to everyone who has ever proudly worn the uniform of the U.S. military. I welcome you to join me in getting the job done."

NOTE: Don't forget to RSVP for my special briefing on the Global War on Terror, Saturday, at 10:30 am in the Oakland County Commissioners' Auditorium, 1200 N. Telegraph, Pontiac. There are a few seats left so let me know if you are coming at veteransbriefing@gmail.com . Click here for more information.
