OAKLAND COUNTY CAN BOAST ABOUT TWO ICAUCUS ENDORSED CANDIDATES - UPDATED

As an IC delegate, I am excited to report that two of our republican candidates have won the Icaucus (www.icaucus.org) endorsement: Rocky Raczkowski from the 9th congressional district and Gene Taliercio from the 12th MI Senate district. Rocky is hoping to replace Democrat Gary Peters and Gene is vying for term-limited Mike Bishop’s seat.

Both are commonsense constitutional conservatives, the basic requirement of Icaucus. Icaucus, or Independence Caucus (NOT Independent Party) is a national, non-partisan, non-profit organization seeking candidates that are willing to go through a rigorous vetting process consisting of 80 questions based on constitutional values and principles. Having passed that with a minimum score of 70 %, the candidate then goes through a grueling interview. As a member of the interview steering committee I can attest the interviews are intense at least. The interviews are taped and then presented to the Michigan members (today there are at least 1000 +). The members listen to the interviews and vote on a candidate based on his questionnaire score and interview. Again, the total score must be a minimum of 70%.

Paul Welday, also from the 9th district was not able to achieve the required minimum 70%, compared to Raczkowski who had 96% on his questionnaire alone and beat Welday on the interview 2 -1. (67% to 33%)Gene Taliercio was the only one brave enough in his race against Copper Rizzo, Jim Marleau, John Garfield, and Kim Russell to go through the vetting. Both Rizzo and Marleau were invited to participate several times, but they declined. Gene passed his questions and interview with high scores.

The ultimate goal of IC is to send vetted constitutional candidates to DC or Lansing and to unseat incumbents that are beholden to unions, lobbyists, and big money special interest groups. The first ever endorsed candidate is Jason Chaffetz from Utah, now making a name for himself in DC.  With the help of Icaucus, early primaries show endorsed candidates having won their races, to name just a few are Bill Randall from NC, Jim DeMint from SC, John Dennis from CA (to beat Nancy Pelosi) ToddYoung from IN. To see all endorsed candidates nationwide log into http://www.icaucus.org/.

The IC helps vetted and endorsed candidates by providing campaign assistance in various ways.
To date Michigan has other endorsed candidates worth mentioning: Robert Palmer, MI Senate, 31st , Steven Mobley, State House, 62nd, Bill Cooper, CD 2 to replace Pete Hoekstra, Tom Stillings CD 1 to take Stapak’s seat,

The following is a list of all Michigan endorsed candidates to date, with more to follow soon:

REPUBLICAN PARTY TRYING TO SPLIT IT'S OWN TICKET

The following was posted to the Icaucus Michigan site and hit home with me immediately.  I believe we need to continue to hammer this issue home every day and everywhere because it is too scary to see what the Republican party is doing.  It is time that just this once, they get over their greed and power hunger and support the candidates that the "people" want.  I deleted some things, as I don't agree with everything the author said.

"Barcia's seat being sought by Robert Palmer. Here we have a man who is vetted and known conservative, but instead of the party standing behind their own man, 2/3rds into the campaign and in the summer stretch towards the primary, some behind the scenes get together and bring a guy in who has been to the Capitol, knows all the games and how to talk without saying anything as politicians are traditionally known for to try to waste Palmer's time and resources. Yes I am talking about Mike Green.

Folks whatever you think, you are going to do, you better do it fast.

The last batch of retards that got elected with Obozo are trying to shut down the internet, giving out more money and offering meaningless jobs to pacify and put back to sleep the few citizens that the patriots have woke up. Sadly still nearly 80% of America sleeps soundly

Amazingly, that torpedoed oil pipe quietly spews environmental fuel up until the elections when lord Obama rides in on his white horse and saves the day getting the next generation of political gargoyles elected in August and November. Go ahead and tell me that isn't whats going on.

Sadly most Patriot groups are not familiar with I-Caucus and the concept MUST be promoted to the hilt. I am willing to schedule someone anyone who is not running for office who represents I-Caucus to come in and do an informational presentation on what I-Caucus is and why it is so important.

All I know is right now we have almost as many pond scum in the Republican party hiding out under the disguise of being conservative as we have treasonous progressives in the Democratic party and that folks is very troubling. It is ruining it for the good men and women running for office. Makes me want to curl up and go to sleep sucking my thumb too. But you won't get rid of me that easy."

MICHIGAN ENDORSED CANDIDATES NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW

We've all been to dozens of tea parties, townhalls, educational events etc. We chatter on Facebook and tweet all we can. Is that enough? It's fun and we think we are doing something constructive to help bring the country back. It is not enough. Get involved, become organized, take on a position to help. Michigan has at this moment three Icaucus http://www.icaucus.org/ endorsed candidates and it is time we start seriously supporting them either through donations or as volunteers with their campaigns.  There will be more candidates posted soon, but lets help these three get a headstart.

Hundreds, maybe thousands of patriots are involved in all different 9/12 groups and forums. How many of them are actually picking up a ball and are running with it?  Not that many. It is always the same names and profile pictures that I come across.  We need to get serious and pitch in wherever we can.  If time is an issue and you like computer work, join us at the http://www.icaucusvirtualteam.ning.com/ and help with posting on Facebook, tweeting, blogging, digging  etc for candidates around the country, those that have special or early elections.  Try it, you might like it.

UPDATE FROM ROBERT PALMER, GRASSROOTS CANDIDATE FOR MI 31ST SENATE SEAT

'Get it Right'

Robert Palmer for State Senate

Michigan 31st District

Why We Can't Vote as We Have in the Past

To my friends,

Here in the 31st District, Arenac-Bay-Huron-Sanilac-Tuscola counties, many cites, towns and villages have become ghost towns. Finding work is all but impossible; people are in the position of having to decide whether to pay bills or buy food for their families. This is not what was expected when Jennifer Granholm promised she would 'blow you away' if re-elected. In fact, many Democrats in the State went right along with all of her programs and, today, wehave the highest unemployment and one of the bottom three economies in the Nation. In the new budget proposal, the Democratic solution is more taxes! However, the Democrats have not stopped with just raising taxes.

Currently, they are trying to pass a bill that will cripple the pensions of many Union Workers. It took the vote of Republican Senators to stop this from passing so far. Once again, the proworker Republicans stepped up to stop the pro-union Democrats from eliminating jobs, raising taxes and reducing benefits. However, with a Democratic Majority House and a Democratic Governor how long can the Senate hold out? The answer is, Not long! And, of course, the unions will then blame the Republicans for the loss of jobs and benefits.

We should have learned by now that Democrats are pro-union, but anti-worker and antibusiness,a mix that has never worked for the average person. But, have we learned? It hasn't happened yet. Maybe it will now. Remember, it is always the Democratic Party that cuts police, firefighters, teachers and other public service employees first to scare the people and get everyone on board with their programs. Don't you think it is time to vote Republican? We need to let our friends and neighbors, especially our union friends, know that we can no longer trust a Democratic party that will continue to send jobs, families and tax dollars out of the State. Please forward this message to all of your friends and neighbors to let them know the truth. Send them to votesmart.com to see how their Representatives in the House voted on all tax bills and spending bills.

Here in Michigan's 96th Congressional District, Representative Jeff Mayes has never seen a tax bill he won't vote YES on. He has also added his YES vote to every step of the Granholm plan to redistribute the wealth of the middle class. Now he wants to be your State Senator. Will you let him win? I can't win without the support of the people, and they need to know who I am and what I stand for so LET THEM KNOW!! We can change the flow here in Michigan in a short time with the right people in our State Government.

Send your friends and neighbors, and go yourself, to the Mackinac Center, or to any other site that shows how much money politicians raise and WHO gives it to them. View the special interest groups that support Representative Jeff Mayes under Michigan Votes - Jeff Mayes. Then you will see why he votes like a far left Progressive and talks like a center-right Conservative. Democratic Party bloggers even say that the end of the Jim Barcia era will usher in the era of the 'Progressive Mayes' - and they say it with glee!! Do we want any more Progressive plans here in the 31st District? I say No! We need to cut taxes on businesses, stop using scare tactics to vote in new progressive bills, cut taxes on the elderly and create a workplace whereworkers have choices. It is time to do something right and Fix Michigan!

Send this to Teachers, UAW workers and other Union workers in the 31st District. The truth is that the Union Leadership is selling them and their future down the tube into the dumpster! The proof is SB1227! Votes don't lie. The Union is in lockstep with this bill; the Republicans are trying to stop it. To quote a memo from 3/25/2010 to teachers here in Bay County,'Senate Leadership and REPRESENTATIVES of the GOVERNOR spent several hours today trying to convince a majority of senators to vote in favor of this bill." The Senate Leadership spoken of here is the DEMOCRATIC Minority Leadership!

You can help the campaign by forwarding this email to your family and friends.

Sincerely,

Robert Palmer

Candidate for the State Senate, 31st District, Michigan

ROBERT PALMER, CANDIDATE FOR 31ST DISTRICT SENATE SEAT

PRESS RELEASE

Official Announcement

Join Robert Palmer as he formally announces his campaign for Michigan's 31st Senate District. The 31st District combines the five counties, Arenac, Bay, Huron, Sanilac and Tuscola. Palmer has the private sector, life and educational experience needed in Lansing to make the changes to “Fix Michigan”.

The duo announcement will take place on March 13th, 2010, at the Tuscola County Courthouse in Caro at 9am and then at the Bay County Courthouse at 2pm the same day.

“Once I am elected to the Senate I will serve as a Citizen Representative rather than as a lobbyist for special interests.” With your help we will represent the needs of the people of Michigan, especially the 31st District. We need to end the era of big spending and even bigger taxation that has placed us at or near the bottom of the economy of all the States in the United States the last EIGHT years.

We can “Fix Michigan” with new and fiscally responsible leadership. We can set and achieve the high standards expected by those we serve, the people of Michigan.

No incumbent, of any office, is entitled to another two or four year term of office after causing Michigan to suffer without jobs and benefits. It is truly time to “Get it Right”.

I am asking you to join me in re-setting the agenda in Lansing so that every person can live the American Dream. I am asking for your help and your vote. Take the time to view the issues

BLUNTLY PUT: CANDIDATES NEED YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT

In recent months patriots around the country banned together and supported candidates like Doug Hoffman and Scott Brown.  People knew if everyone just donated whatever amount they could afford, it would have a great impact. And so it did, Hoffman came real close and it made a statement and Brown won thanks to patriots around the country.

Here in Michigan we have several candidates that are true conservatives, two of which will be endorsed by Independence Caucus. http://www.icaucus.ning.com/ .They are Robert Palmer who is running for the 31st Senate seat and the other is Steven Mobley who is running for the 62nd house seat.   Both are citizens that are tired of the way things are run in Lansing.  They know what is wrong and are willing to do what it takes to help fix Michigan. They both have the desire and will to run, they are gathering grassroots support, but what both are lacking are enough funds to run effective campaigns against well funded democats.

We all seem to be willing to help with candidates' campaigns by going door to door etc, but we also need to help financially.  Most people don't realize just how much a typical state campaign can cost.  They can run on an average between $100,000 to $ 150,000.  Thousands of pieces of literature, ads, postage to name just a few add up to lots of money.  That's why if you read this, please help these candidates out.  Any amount you can afford,  Hundreds of $ 5, 10, or 25 will add up quickly.  President Obama received millions of $ 5 contributions, look where it got him.  We can do better than that. Candidates benefit the most from direct contributions.

You can find out more about Robert Palmer on his website at http://www.palmer4senate.com/ and about Steven Mobley at http://www.stevenlmobley.com/

LIBERTY, SLAVERY AND STATE SOVEREIGNTY

Robert Palmer, a constitutional, conservative candidate for a Michigan Senate seat, wrote this exceptional essay.  Mr. Palmer will be receiving the official endorsement of the Independence Caucus http://www.icaucus.ning.com/, a grassroots action group that vetts and endorses candidates in order to unseat incumbents that are beholden to big money interest groups.  His ideas ideas on how to fix Michigan are exactly what this state needs.

Liberty, Slavery, and State Sovereignty

In his book “The Law” Frederic Bastiat defines the law; “It is the collective organization of the individual right to lawful defense”. 1 You might note that the word ‘defense’ is primary to the ‘individual’ and their right to make sure they are secure in those things the individual directly controls, their life, liberty and property. Every man, woman and child is “endowed with certain unalienable Rights,”2 according to the founding document of this Nation, the ‘Articles of Incorporation of the United States of America’, which is known today as the Declaration of Independence. This contract is one that can not be broken or the whole concept of a ‘United States’ fails.

While it is commonly taught that the ‘United States Constitution’ is the founding National document nothing could be farther from the truth. The “Contract between the States” that binds them together is the Declaration of Independence. The ‘Law that comes from that contract’ is the United States Constitution. Why is this important? The Declaration of Independence is concerned with the concept of ‘personal’ liberty which is to be monitored by the States for the sake of the individual. The States “deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”3 then advise and control the Federal Government. At least that is the way it was until recent history. TEA PARTY CANDIDATE - ROBERT PALMER - 31ST DISTRICT SENATE

The Republican Party is hopefully starting to get it that we need to bring back true conservative values based on the Constitution in order to preserve the structure of this nation.  Tea Party Candidates will work with those values.
The very recent victory of Senator Brown is just another indication that the current administration and the democratic Michigan politicians were headed to far left.

In Michigan I see more and more Tea Party candidates running for State House and Senate seats as well as for the US congressional level.

One of several candidates comes to mind.  That is Robert Palmer, who is running for the 31st State Senate seat.  Robert teaches the Constitution and is an every day citizen that got fed up with the breath taking turn in the wrong direction.  As a result he decided he can do better.  He just filed his papers and is ready to start campaigning. Here are some of his views:

Far too many candidates are touting their political background and their personal abilities, based upon their close ties to a political Party of choice. This "good ole' boy" attitude has destroyed the true political process at every level from the City Council to the White House. While Parties are needed to join together those who have similar ideals the parties must be secondary to the needs of each District, State and the Nation as a whole.

This country must return to a policy that generates professions rather than just 'jobs' and that recognizes the rights and responsibilities of each and every citizen as well as the rights of the States. Only when our Michigan citizens enjoy stable professions with above standard pay will our children be able to safely and surely move into the future.

In order for Michigan to return to a viable and credible economy and to regain rights to those State Powers granted by both the United States Constitution and the Michigan State Constitution there must be a return to the political philosophy of this Countries founders. Free market enterprise with a minimum of Governmental interference as well as a reduction in the size and scope of both State and Federal Government.

You can find out more about Robert on his website http://www.palmer4senate.com/  .   Robert can also be found on Facebook at http://tinyurl.com/yhgp4g6 and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/robertbaycity .
